Bears Den

Updated June 10, 2008

Chainsaw carving by Eddy Hoots. Thanks for viewing our site!  We make our living carving logs into bears with a chainsaw.  The whole family gets involved with the finish work, burning and varnishing.  It's a lot of hard work but we have fun doing it.

During the summer Eddy's dad used to take him and his brothers through the Rocky's on the way to visit friends and family in Eureka, Montana.  They would spend a couple of weeks along the way camping and fishing or exploring.  Eddy couldn't get enough of the chainsaw carved bears he saw all over the western States.  Back home in the foothills of North Carolina, Eddy taught himself to carve and has been carving for 19 years now.
